Below is an interview with Scott Mowatt, the Head Golf Professional at Lake Windsor Country Club. The following are a few traditional and non traditional golf centric questions that I love to ask influential people in the golf industry.

Can you provide our readers a brief biography?
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and an Associate's degree in Golf Management from San Diego Golf Academy. While in school I worked for Pinnacle Peak Country Club in Scottsdale, Arizona for four years as an outside service manager. After being away from the golf industry for two years I accepted a position at Wild Rock Golf Club in the Wisconsin Dells. After 4 seasons at Wild Rock as the Tournament Coordinator/ 1st Assistant I was offered the job as Head Golf Professional at Lake Windsor Country Club.

When did you start golfing and who introduced you to the game?
I started golfing around age 3. My dad cut down an old 7 iron of his and I started playing at Pinehurst Country Club in Denver, CO. After Pinehurst Country Club my parents joined Castle Pines Country Club and I spent my summers playing 36 holes a day with my friends.

What is your current home course?
Lake Windsor Country Club

To date, what is your proudest golf accomplishment?
Shooting 66 on Wild Rock with two hole outs from 93 yards on hole #2 and hole #10 and becoming a member of the PGA.

What is your biggest golf pet peeve on or off the course?
Slow Play

What is your favorite club in your bag and why?
Putter. You can always have a good round if you make a lot of putts.

What is your favorite golf destination?
Maui, Hawaii. Everything about playing golf in Hawaii is relaxing. I can even handle slow play if I'm in Hawaii.

What course is on your bucket list that you have not played yet?
Augusta.

If you woke up tomorrow and could play one course you played before, where would you play?
Kapalua Plantation Course in Hawaii.

If you could change one aspect, rule or thing about golf, what would it be and why?
I would change the pace of play. Anymore golfers do not have the time to spend 5 plus hours at the golf course. If we want to attract new golfers than we need to find a way to make a round of golf take less time. Tee it Forward is a great step in the right direction but we need to do a better job at convincing golfers that it is ok to play a shorter golf course.
