You don't have to be a drifter to play Nebraska's High Plains Golf Trail. The four courses that make up this surprisingly good collection of golf holes are open to golfers of all stripes, and golfers seeking bang for their buck cannot do better.

For example, Wild Horse Golf Club, located 180 miles west of Lincoln off of Interstate 80, has been rated very highly by various golf magazines and is considered to be one of the best bargains in golf, costing less than $38 to walk during weekdays. Yes, some munis charge less, but the only thing Wild Horse has in coming with the average mini is that they both exist.
