Golf Guide: St Andrews -
St Andrews is known as the home of golf. The St Andrews Links Trust was created by an Act of Parliament in 1974 created to preserve and enhance the courses for public play. The Trust currently operates six courses on the links, the Old Course, the New Course (1895), the Jubilee (1897), the Eden (1914), the Strathtyrum (1993) and the Balgove.
The Castle Course was built along the coast along the southside of the town.
