Chef Diane Allen-Baines Featured in Club and Resort Business Magazine

As the driving force behind the amazing food that has been served at The Farms Golf Club for over 20 years, Executive Chef Diane Allen-Baines has been an integral and highly valued member of our San Diego country club. As a testament to her stellar service over the years, an in-depth interview with Executive Chef Allen-Baines was featured in Februarys edition of the prestigious Club and Resort Business Magazine.

The interview explored her philosophies behind cooking, the challenges and triumphs she has experienced at The Farms in the long time shes been there, and why shes excited for the future at our San Diego country club.

Simple and Hearty
The Farms doesnt offer dinner service, and Chef Allen-Baines uses that to make breakfast and lunch shine. She is famous for her pancakes, and The Farms is known for serving a huge variety of hot and hearty soups ranging from simple offerings like chili and chicken noodle to more exotic fare like curried chickpea stew and chicken khao sai and pork tomatillo.

While dinner isnt regularly served, Chef Allen-Baines and her kitchen team do have frequent opportunities to let their dinner skills shine during the many events and holiday celebrations hosted at the San Diego country club.

Pristine Presentation
As one of the premier Golf Clubs San Diego, The Farms offers a picturesque view of the surrounding San Diego countryside, and Chef Allen-Baines crafts her presentation and decorations to augment that. She and her team utilize a wide variety of local and natural decorations to liven the country club up and give it a beautiful, authentic feel.

Executive Chef Diane Allen-Baines received her Degree in Culinary Arts from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, graduating in 1979, and she continued her education for three years at the CIA Greystone and Club & Resort Businesss Chef to Chef Conference. Chef Allen-Baines has been leading the kitchen of our San Diego country club since 1992, and we fully expect her to continue raising standards and satisfying stomachs for many years to come.
