Fairfield Hills Receives Wisconsin's Top Award for Appearance and Maintenance

Fairfield Hills Golf Course & Range received the top award for 9-hole Appearance and Maintenance at the 2015 Golf Course Owners of Wisconsin (GCOW) annual awards banquet. The awards ceremony was held at the Broadlands Golf Club on November 17th. Awards were based on golfer's votes on the gcow.org website during the 2015 golf season. Course owner, Jim Tracy, was on hand to receive the award. At the awards ceremony, Tracy thanked the association for their recognition and remarked that Fairfield Hills was especially thrilled to be selected as one of Wisconsin's best maintained courses in a state with so many outstanding golf facilities. He also cited his team's hard work and attention to detail as the reason for Fairfield Hill's success.

Fairfield Hills Golf Course & Range is a family-friendly 9-hole course located in Baraboo. The par 30 course was built by Harold Spink, and opened in 1997. The area's largest driving range was added in 2006 along with a new club house. The course was purchased by Jim Tracy in 2014, and the facility has experienced tremendous growth over the past two years. According to Tracy, "At a time when many golf courses continue to struggle, Fairfield Hills rounds have significantly increased over the past two seasons. We took over a terrific facility, and have worked hard to create a truly family-friendly golf facility."

Fairfield Hills is very optimistic about the course's future. Tracy cites the team's outstanding job maintaining the facility, and a significant increase in marketing and advertising as the reason for growth. "The course is seeing a lot more local golfers as well area tourists. The number of golfers participating in the Monday morning senior league has more than doubled over the past two seasons. We are also seeing more families and kids using the facility. Golfers are also responding very positively to our expanded selection of golf merchandise, food and beverages in the club house. In our year end survey, we found the vast majority of golfers are extremely happy with the changes we've made and the overall experience we're providing."

Fairfield Hills is now closed for the winter, but will re-open in late March or early April depending on the weather. They invite anyone who has not visited the course recently to come check out the facility and see why they were selected as Wisconsin's top 9-hole golf course based on appearance and maintenance.
