The U.S. Golf Academy in Plymouth, Indiana has recently opened a Women's Golf Academy geared strictly to the swing and game of lady golfers.
The staff at the U.S. Golf Academy at Swan Lake Golf Resort has accumulated data from technology used at the Academy to bring a new instructional dimension previously unknown to women golfers.
General Manager and Director of Golf Pat Bayley and Academy Director Bruce Rearick noted in the past almost 50% of Academy attendees have been female. The explosion in women golfers is tied to Baby Boomers who are nearing retirement and wanting to find a pleasurable sport they can share with their husbands and female friends.
Bayley and Rearick note that their studies using Trackman technology - measuring speed and launch angle - have revealed valuable information about the typical female golfer's swing.
They have developed programs that enable women golfers to maintain their swing speed and achieve solid results in distance and consistency.
Toward that end, equipment can be customized by Academy personnel to maximize the female swing. In addition, based on data collected at the U.S. Golf Academy, different training and on-course strategies emerge for the average female golfer. These valuable strategies can lower scores and make golfer more enjoyable.
The first all-women sessions at the U.S. Golf Academy are scheduled to begin in late April.
