Antigua's Performance Golf Collection

Form, Fashion and Function

By John Ehle

Antigua seems to always be in the style and performance avant garde and the new golf collection doesn't vary from that sturdy reputation.

Antigua's Performance-72 high tech fabrics are a perfect fit in terms of drape and comfort....especially in this summer's steamy, blazing temperatures. PRF-72 has been fashioned into two New Hybrid Pullovers which they call Styles Flare and Omega. When I first wore these pullovers I was amazed at their "second skin" comfort and how readily my perspiration exited my skin and the fabric.

The garments look like the outerwear we associated with wind shirts several years back. The short sleeve styling is so elegantly cut that making a swing is an unencumbered event that could be likened to a naked pass at the ball. The stand-up collar and quarter zip placket flirt with "look at me" styling and with the color selections and contrasting jacquard side insets these garments beg for eye-popping color applications and Antigua has chosen the palette unerringly.

The visual, tactile and performance elements combined in these styles are a perfect stand-alone choice for warm weather golf and will serve as an effective inner layer when the wind starts to blow off the largest freshwater lake in the world.
