adidas Spring 2018 Apparel and Footwear for Women

-You Never Looked So Good

By David Theoret

adidas presence on the LPGA Tour and its quest to become the leading manufacturer of golf apparel for ladies continues to grow. And, with brand ambassadors the likes of Natalie Gulbis and Paula Creamer, that growth is likely to continue. But the "proof is in the pudding" as they say and adidas is definitely up to the task.

Their Printed Bermuda Shorts are sewn from a lightweight stretch fabric that offers full range of motion, and the regular fit falls somewhere between loose and snug. The waist has a good deal of stretch in it, something ladies seem to be looking for these days, especially in their golf apparel, and the belt loops are large enough for your favorite accessory. Slip-in front pockets and back welt pockets are large and keep all your valuables safe and secure. An adidas Badge of Sport metal tab above back pocket identifies the brand and the print is bold enough to get you some looks. These Printed Bermuda Shorts are available in sizes 0 - 16 and in a Black/Grey or White/Grey print. Retail price is $70. https://www.adidas.com/us/printed-bermuda-shorts/CY4718.html

The Ultimate adistar Ankle Pants are the perfect pull-on pants for gals who are looking for something that is slim-fitting and offers a stylish look. They're sewn from the company's twill fabric with plenty of stretch to get you through your golf swing and built-in 50+ UV protection keeps you protected from the sun. Front pockets and back-welt pockets provide ample storage space and a metallic adidas Badge of Sport above the back pocket identifies the brand. The Ultimate adistar Ankle Pants are available in sizes XS - XL and in Black, White or Grey. They can be yours for a scant $75. https://www.adidas.com/us/ultimate365-adistar-ankle-pants/CD3991.html

The Women's Ultimate365 Polo from adidas is as popular with the gals as it is with the guys and ladies have the option of a sleeveless style. The Ultimate365 Sleeveless Polo is sewn from the same 93% polyester/7% elastane single jersey fabric as the men's collection and has superior moisture-wicking and anti-microbial properties, keeping you dry and odor free throughout your round. The lightweight 4-way stretch fabric moves with you through your golf swing and is perfect during any season thanks to the UPF 50+ UV finish. This sleeveless polo features a self-collar and 4-button placket and the edge-stitching gives this garment added durability. It's a regular fit in the body with a straight silhouette. A metallic adidas Badge of Sport above hem and the iconic 3-Stripes on back yoke lets everyone know you're an adidas gal! The Ultimate365 Sleeveless Polo is available in sizes XS - XL and in four heathered-like colors: Black, White, Coral and His-Res Blue. Retail price is $55. https://www.adidas.com/us/ultimate-ss-p/CE3066.html

Another sleeveless polo that ladies are sure to love is the Polo Tank Top. The moisture-wicking fabric helps keep you dry and the built-in UV protection keeps the sun's harmful rays at bay. It's crafted from adidas' 88% polyester/12% elastane single jersey fabric with plenty of stretch to eliminate any pinching or binding during your swing. The polo collar, open V-neck and crossover detailing give this polo a sleek look. There's a metallic adidas Badge of Sport above the hem and it's available in sizes XS - XL in either Coral or Gray. Retail price is $60. https://www.adidas.com/us/polo-tank-top/CW0579.html

During those chilly, early morning rounds, adidas' Women's Golf V-Neck Sweater provides all the warmth you need. It's made from 100% Pima cotton and provides a soft, luxurious feel and the heathered raglan sleeves add a touch of style. The sweater features a ribbed V-neck, cuffs and hem for a classic golf look and adidas' branded gripper tape on the back of the neck keeps the sweater in place and you looking your best. There's an adidas Badge of Sport above the hem to help identify the brand. The adidas Women's V-Neck Golf Sweater comes in sizes XS - XL and in two colors: Black/Charcoal and Blue/Grey. Retail price is $80. https://www.adidas.com/us/v-neck-sweater/CG1696.html

Another great piece of cool weather gear is adidas adistar Printed Golf Skort. Climachill Technology conducts heat away from your body. The built-in compression shorties offer both comfort and support and the 90% polyester/10% elastane stretchy twill fabric gives you freedom of movement throughout your entire golf swing. Both the front and back pockets are easily accessed and provide plenty of room for you on-course essentials. The Red/Orange allover print will have players doing a double take and asking about the brand. In case there's any doubt, an adidas Badge of Sport metal tab above the back pocket let's fellow players know your favored brand. The adistar Printed Golf Skort is available in sizes XS - XL and retails for $75. https://www.adidas.com/us/adistar-printed-skirt/CD3503.html

Want to lighten things up a bit? Check out adidas Graphic T-Shirts, made from a lightweight cotton/polyester fabric that wicks moisture away from the body, and is both breathable and comfortable. The rubber-print "I'm Not the Cart Girl" graphic on the front sets the mood and puts your all-around game on display. This regular fit garment is wider in the body, with a straight silhouette. An adidas Badge of Sport and 3-Stripes detailing adorn the hem and back neck. Sizes are XS - XL with a retail price of $25. https://www.adidas.com/us/graphic-tee/CF3416.html

Now that we've got you dressed, it's time to complete your ensemble with something all ladies seem to enjoy: new shoes! For spring 2018 adidas has introduced two new styles of golf shoes for women, the adipower Boost BOA shoes and the spikeless adiPure Sport shoes. Both shoes provide ladies the ultimate in comfort and performance on the course.

The adiPower Boost BOA shoes feature the BOA closure system, which greatly simplifies the fastening/unfastening process and allows for micro-adjustments. They're built with energy-returning Boost technology which keeps you feeling powerful from the first tee to the 18th green and beyond. Climaproof keeps your feet dry, and the rich microfiber leather upper provides protection, durability and a clean look. The six-spike outsole design gives you efficient traction and stability. A Fitfoam SlowRecovery PU sockliner molds to the shape of your foot for a custom fit and feel. The Fitfoam Geo collar and tongue add enhanced cushioning and comfort. This adiPower Boost shoe is wider in the forefoot for improved fit, feel and overall comfort. No more aching feet after your round! They're available in three colors: Real Coral/Silver Metallic/Silver Metallic, Cloud White/Core Black/Core Black and Grey/Grey/Mystery Ruby and have a retail price of $180. The Grey color is on sale through the adidas website for $85, making them a steal. https://www.adidas.com/us/adipower-boost-boa-shoes/F33648.html

The adipure Sport Shoes are constructed with a lightweight textile upper treated with a TPU protective coating giving it a breathable-yet-stylish look. A Fitfoam pillow sockliner combines with a soft and durable EVA midsole and provides extra cushioning and comfort where it's needed most. The adipure women's last features a more rounded toe, a roomier forefoot and locked-down support in the midfoot for improved aesthetics and increased comfort. The highly flexible adiwear spikeless outsole features puremotion lugs and are extremely green-friendly, making them a favorite among greenskeepers. They are available in 4 color combinations: White/Yellow/Grey, White/Aero Blue/Coral, Black/Coral/Black and White/Coral. Retail price is $99.99. https://www.adidas.com/us/adipure-sport-shoes/DA9133.html

David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
