adidas Golf Apparel and Footwear for Men

- Look and Feel Like A Pro

By David Theoret

The adidas name has been around sports apparel for a long time and may be best known in the soccer world. Growing up in Canada in the 70's and 80's, it was the biggest name in athletic footwear; every high schooler had to have at least one pair as well as adidas gym shorts and tee shirts. The cool kids even had an adidas gym bag.

Over the past few years, adidas presence on the PGA Tour has been steadily increasing, thanks to a stable of brand ambassadors including Dustin Johnson, John Rahm, Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose. The split last year of TaylorMade-adidas has allowed the company to return to their main focus: apparel and footwear.

Last year, adidas introduced the adiPure golf collection, which blends premium finishing with relentless attention to detail. AdiPure is adidas' premium brand and the quality of these garments is incredible, and nowhere is this more evident than the adiPure Spring Polo. This shirt offers split side hems and a more relaxed fit for full range of motion. The tri-blend fabric is extremely breathable with great moisture-wicking capabilities, keeping you dry throughout your round and it. The Spring Polo features a self-fabric polo collar with three-button placket and the ultrasoft handfeel puts this polo in a class all its own. The adiPure logo sits just below the collar in the back. It's available in sizes S - XXL and in four colors: White, Collegiate Navy, Sun Glow, Energy Blue. Retail price is $100. CLICK HERE

Another great piece from the adiPure Collection the adiPure Square Quilted Jacket. It's not too often that an outerwear piece can have you looking good, but the is the one garment that can. The Square Quilted Jacket is perfect for chilly spring mornings. The fabric has a little bit of stretch in it and features all over square quilting that gives it a great look...and warmth. Elastic on the cuffs keep the arms in place and give added protection when the wind kicks up. The adipure Square Quilted Jacket features a full-length zipper with stand-up collar and zippered side pockets on the seam and snaps on the sides at the bottom for added flexibility in relaxing the fit. There's a 3D heat-transfer adiPure script logo on the back of the neck. It's available in sizes S - XXL and in either Collegiate Navy or Carbon, with a retail price of $150. CLICK HERE

adidas Ultimate 365 Heather Block Polo is engineered from an 88% Polyester/12% Elastane fabric that provides the right balance and weight for year-round comfort and performance. The 4-way stretch fabric offers full mobility to move with you through your entire golf swing. It's highly breathable with great moisture-wicking properties to keep you cool and dry throughout the day and the UPF 50+ sun protection keeps those solar rays at bay. The iconic 3-stripes adidas logo on the left sleeve identifies the brand. The Ultimate 365 Heather Block Polo is available in sizes S - XXL and in 4 color combinations: Noble Indigo/Real Gold, Collegiate Navy/Aero Green Heathered, Carbon/White Heathered and Grey/Grey Heathered. Retail price is $80. CLICK HERE

Another design sewn from the same fabric is the Ultimate Rugby Stripe Golf Polo. It features the same technology as the Heather Block Polo and is designed to be worn year-round. The classic wide, contrasting rugby stripes are a unique look on the golf course, and the 3-button placket with contrasting lining gives this polo a classic golf look. It's available in sizes S - XXL and in Light Blue/Navy, Navy/Green, Grey/Black and White/Grey. Retail price is $75. CLICK HERE

As for shorts, adidas has a lot of options. Their Ultimate 365 Shorts have become my go-to golf shorts. They're available in sizes 30 - 42 and in at least 9 colors. Several of the brighter ones don't seem to be available yet this year. The Ultimate 365 Shorts feature a moisture-wicking fabric for comfort that keeps you cool and dry when things heat up. The stretch waist is convenient for the post-tournament buffet and the anti-slip gripper tape keeps your shirt tucked in and looking neat and clean. Built-in UPF 50+ UV protection keeps the sun's harmful rays at bay while you're on the course. The 88% polyester/12% elastane plain weave fabric has plenty of stretch to move with you through your golf swing and the regular fit strikes a comfortable balance between snug and loose. The slip-in front pockets are deep and easy to access and the back-welt pockets accommodate most scorecards. A water-resistant finish has been added to the fabric so that the shorts don't get soggy in wet weather and dry quickly. Retail price on the Ultimate 365 Shorts is $65. CLICK HERE

The Ultimate365 fabric is also available in a pant of you want to look like a pro The Ultimate 365 Pants are available in several colors including, Black, Navy, Grey. They're also available in a Tapered Fit. Retail price is $80. CLICK HERE

If you're looking for a complete golf wardrobe makeover, you'll want to include some new golf shoes. Recently, adidas introduced a new high-performance golf shoe, the Tour360 Knit, which brings their Primeknit technology to the forefront. The all-new Primeknit upper gives golfers unrivaled aesthetics when it comes to style, but there are many unseen benefits including breathability and stretch. This gives players for even more comfort and performance. CLICK HERE

The traditional collar opening has been replaced with a sock-like, rib-knit material, providing golfers superior comfort, no matter how many holes they play. A fitfoam PU sockliner provides additional support, cushioning and comfort, making socks optional! The lower portion of the upper is treated with 50/50 Protect - a special film that provides an added layer of protection against the dew on those early mornings.

The Tour360 Knit shoe has adidas' full-length BOOST midsole, giving them unrivaled cushioning and endless energy. There's also an external TPU stripe, coupled with internal an Sprintskin, a revolutionary single-layer synthetic that produces incredible support and unparalleled fit around the midfoot.

One thing you'll notice when you look at these shoes is a gap between the sole and upper in the middle of the shoe. This gap is referred to as the Torsion Tunnel and provides individual control and flexibility between the heel and forefoot. It also is "green friendly." To keep you well connected to the ground, adidas' puremotion TPU outsole has 10 strategically placed new CenTraXion thintech EXP cleats. The Tour360 Knit golf shoes are available in a few color combinations including Black/Grey/White, Grey/Purple/White and White/EQT Yellow. Retail price is $179.99.

adidas offers a 90-day comfort guarantee on the new Tour360 Knit golf shoes; my guess is that you'll fall in love with them after the first 18...holes that is! For more information on the Spring 2018 lineup of golf apparel and footwear from adidas, visit their website at www.adidas.com.

About: David Theoret

David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
