The Coeur d'Alene Public Golf Club was the first public golf course in Kootenai County, and was incorporated in June, 1953. Original Incorporators were Percy M. Lents, S. C. Sanderson, R. The four years between incorporation and opening consisted of outstanding effort and hard work by civic minded citizens and businesses.
hey raised money by corporate and individual pledges. Some land for the course was donated and some was purchased. Three sub-divisions of property and sale of lots surrounding the course speeded up development of the back nine holes. Donators and contributors were issued Certificates of Indebtedness, none of which were ever claimed or paid.
