What makes a golf course great? Some would say its how challenging a course is, or its rating and slope, or how well kept the greens are. Although those are all vital to greatness, sometimes it goes deeper than that. Sometimes a golf course becomes great because of a history rich in dedication, hard work and sheer love of the game.

Hollydale Golf Course is one of those unique masterpieces thanks to Rich Deziel.

Hollydales legacy began in 1965 when two ambitious brothers decided to take a leap of faith. Rich and Bill Deziel turned their familys farmland into what is now known as Hollydale Golf Course. Nine years later, their lives expanded when Hollydales sister business, Shamrock Golf Course, was born.

Anyone who has ever golfed at Hollydale or Shamrock knows that Rich was as much a part of the course as the trees and grass. He always found time to sit and have a chat with the golf course patrons. So many golfers see these golf courses as more than just a business  they see it as a family  a family that they are a part of because of Richs kind spirit and outgoing personality.
