Houben named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Lodge of Four Seasons

Frederik G. Houben has been appointed the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Lodge of Four Seasons on the Lake of the Ozarks located in central Missouri.

In making the announcement, Larry R. McAfee, General Manager of The Lodge of Four Seasons said, "Houben brings to this position a wealth of knowledge encompassing over 25 years of industry sales and marketing experience. Most recently, Houben held the position as Regional Director, Sales and Marketing for Warwick International Hotels, North America and Bahamas. In this position, he was responsible for the group and transient sales growth and revenue yield management in seven hotels that included markets in New York City (NY), Dallas (TX), Denver (CO), Paradise Island in the Bahamas, Seattle (WA), Chicago (IL), and San Francisco (CA). He was also instrumental in setting up sales initiatives with the opening of hotels in the Middle East."

McAfee added, "Houben is also familiar with our regional markets as he headed up the sales efforts at the Historic Allerton Hotel in Chicago, IL. In addition, he spent several years in Branson, MO as Director Sales & Marketing for hospitality operations in that market."

Houben began his career in Brazil with Sheraton Hotels and has held Vice President and Director positions with IHG, Richfield Hospitality, GF Management, and Hilton Hotels. He also taught Meetings and Convention Services on a part-time basis in Chicago, IL.

Houben and his fiancé, Paula have recently moved to the Lake Area and are establishing a residence in the community.

The Lodge of Four Seasons is completing a multi-million dollar renovation of the resort included complete remodeling of guest rooms with the addition of 55 inch televisions, new draperies, carpeting, fittings, beds and bedding, wall coverings, bath vanities, electric mirrors and lighting, Keurig coffee makers, sound rise clock radios, ergonomic chairs, desk and other decorative accessories plus replacement of all exterior sliding doors in the original Lodge building.

In addition, all public areas have been renovated including the entry, lobby, restaurants, meeting rooms, atrium, hallways, and exterior building enhancements, the main swimming pool, roadways and sidewalks plus the replacement of the heating and cooling systems as a part of the multi-million dollar remodeling.

The Lodge of Four Seasons offers 358 rooms and over 65,000 square feet of meeting space. Amenities include the Midwest's best 36 holes of golf, a full service marina and five diverse restaurants. The Lodge is also the home of the nationally recognized Spa Shiki.

McAfee said, "The Lodge is the premier meeting resort in mid-Missouri and the remodeling and renovation of all our sleeping rooms, meeting space, new conference room chairs, improved lighting, upgraded Wi-Fi connections, sound system and other features will enhance the productivity and enjoyment for our returning conferences and leisure guests."

Houben added, "The remodeling is opening doors for additional business to return to The Lodge and the Lake of the Ozarks. Several meeting planners have stated that the remodeling and renovations has put The Lodge and the lake back on the top of the list of potential meeting locations. Several organizations site the lake's centralized location as an important consideration and our renovations have opened new doors of opportunity."
