By Brian Weis

Whether you have played a course 20+ times a year or looking to play the course for the first time, insights from an insider can help enhance your golf experience. Below is an interview with Marc Vedder, PGA who shares some valuable tidbits about the course, memorable holes and must eats and treats at the 19th.

Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property
RedHawk Public Golf Course is an 18-hole championship facility overlooking Lake Lowell in Nampa, Idaho. The golf course, opened in July 2014, offers panoramic views of Lake Lowell and the Owyhee Mountains. The Gene Bates designed golf course will challenge players of all skills levels with it's smooth fast greens, rolling undulating fairways, and numerous teeing areas.

In 2015 RedHawk Public Golf Course will offer a "Little" RedHawk teeing area. This area is great for beginners, or players looking to sharpen their iron play with holes varying from 200 yards to 75 yards. Also coming in 2015 RedHawk Public Golf Course will open a brand new practice facility equipped with a new practice putting green, driving range, and short game/bunker facilities.

Not only is RedHawk Public Golf Course the place to play, the Treasure Valley's newest golf course is quickly earning the reputation as a premier site for Championship Golf. RedHawk Public Golf Course played host to the 2014 Idaho Golf Association State Junior Championship. In 2015 RedHawk Public Golf Course will play host to the 2015 Pacific Northwest Golf Association Girls Junior Amateur, and the 2015 Idaho Golf Association Women's Four-Ball State Championship.

If you are looking for an exciting and well-maintained golf course, a friendly staff, and a great place to get away by yourself or with the family, RedHawk Public Golf Course is the place for you!

If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course?
RedHawk is a very unique golf course to the Treasure Valley. The views of Lake Lowell, the Owyhee Mountains, and the treasure valley alone are worth your time, then the golf course conditioning is spectacular. The views are amazing, and the course conditioning is even better than the views!

What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course?
Make sure to use the design contours of the fairways and apron's to help you get the ball close to the hole. The high soft shot is not always the best solution to scoring well at RedHawk. Bring all the shots in your bag here!

Recent Awards or What You Are Most Proud About The Course?
We are very proud of our tournament heritage. Opening in July of 2014, RedHawk Golf Course has already played host to such events as the 2014 IGA Junior State Championship, the 2015 IGA State Women's Fourball Championship, the 2015 PNGA Girls Junior Championship.

What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole?
The 5th hole at RedHawk is our signature hole. It recently won the award of PNGA's Great Holes of the Northwest in 2015. A hard sloping fairway from left to right, accompanied by a strong uphill approach into a VERY undulated green is what makes hole #5 at RedHawk our signature hole.

What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It?
I personally love hole #11 here at RedHawk. The fairway is well guarded by fairway bunkers, and the approach shot is placed into a very tricky double-tiered green.

Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole?
Absolutely HAVE to try the pulled pork sandwich! It's awesome!

Who Holds Course Record and What Was Their Score?
The course record is held by Mr. Tyler Aldridge (PGA TOUR) firing a sizzling round of -10 61.
