Great News! Golf Digest readers give Charleston/Kiawah an 87.3 overall rating making it the top golf destination in the 2009 Readers' Choice Awards.
The 68th Senior PGA Championship was also played this past year in Charleston! One of the strongest fields in senior golf competed for the coveted Alfred S. Bourne Trophy at Kiawah's The Ocean Course. And Golfworld readers recently ranked Kiawah Island Golf Resort as the No. 1 resort in the US.
The LPGA's top stars returned to Charleston this past June for the Ginn Tribute Hosted by ANNIKA. Tournament winner Seon Hwa Lee won in a one-hole, sudden-death playoff on No.18, against runner-up Karrie Webb.
