Players To Watch: The 2011 U.S. Amateur At Erin Hills

For the first time in our state's history, the United States Amateur is coming to Wisconsin. Our nation's oldest championship will be contested August 22nd - August 28th.

Admission and parking will be free each day at both Erin Hills and Blue Mound Golf and Country Club. We invite you to come out to see the world's best amateurs competing for the most prestigious prize in amateur golf. This will be the deepest and most talented field in the history of this great championship.

Players to Watch

You have seen some of these great players showcase their talents on some of golf's biggest stages, and now is your chance to see them in person! Here is a sampling of some players you will want to see perform:

Peter Uihlein: The defending champion just returned from the British Open Championship where he made the cut. Peter also competed in this year's Masters and U.S. Open. He defeated David Chung in last year's 36 hole final at Chamber's Bay and ended the season as the #1 ranked amateur in the world.

Tom Lewis: The reigning British Amateur Champion had a share of the first round lead at this year's Open Championship, shooting 65.

Patrick Cantlay: The UCLA star made headlines with his 10 under par 60 at the Traveler's Championship this year, the lowest PGA Tour round ever by an amateur. He finished tied for 24th. He also tied for 21st at this year's U.S. Open and recently finished 9th at the Canadian Open.

Jordan Spieth: This high school student has been in serious contention the past two years at the Byron Nelson Classic.

Russell Henley: This year, the University of Georgia star won a Nationwide Tour Event as an amateur. His 16th place finish at last year's U.S. Open means he passed on significant professional money to remain an Amateur for the 2011 season.
