Below is an interview with Larry Lavely, Director of Golf/Managing Partner at A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort. Larry fell in love with the game of golf while caddying at a local private golf course. After attending Central Michigan University he began his P.G.A. Apprenticeship at local golf course near the college. Following apprenticeship he started his career as P.G.A. member and became a golf course owner at the age of 27.

The following are a few traditional and non traditional golf centric questions that I love to ask influential people in the golf industry.

When did you start golfing and who introduced you do the game? At age 12 started caddying and playing golf. The private course I caddied at introduced me to playing golf.

What is your current home course? The Torch course and Sundance course at A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort.

To date, what is your proudest golf accomplishment? Becoming a golf course owner.

What is your biggest golf pet peeve on or off the course? Discount golfers.

What is your favorite golf destination? Although I thoroughly enjoy golf getaways to Arizona, Florida and South Carolina, Northern Michigan has the most challenging and most beautiful golf anywhere.

What course is on your bucket list that you have not played yet? Either Augusta National or Pebble Beach.

If you woke up tomorrow and could play one course you played before, where would you play? Bay Hill

If you could change one aspect, rule or thing about golf, what would it be and why? Honestly, I wouldn't change a thing. The golf business and the game of golf have been nothing but a blessing to me.
