Kate Lord / AHead Golf Apparel Review

By David Theoret

Kate Lord and Ahead have rolled out some eye-catching pieces for their 2017 collection. Kate Lord's Hatley Sleeveless Princess Seam Polo with piping is sewn from the company's 95% polyester/5% Spandex jersey fabric, giving it just the right amount of stretch to let you get through your golf swing with no pinching or binding. The anti-microbial finish keeps you smelling fresh throughout your round by fighting off unwanted odors and the moisture wicking fabric draws sweat away from your body keeping you dry all day long. The Hatley features a 5-button placket with self-collar and double stitching on the sleeves and bottom hem. The contrasting piping on the shoulders adds a nice touch. There's a Kate Lord embroidered logo on the bottom right. Kate Lord's Hatley Polo is available in sizes S - XL and in several colors including Iris, Peony, Seaglass, Key Lime, Pewter and White. This polo can be yours for a mere $54.95.

Another great looking piece of golf apparel from Kate Lord is the Ashby Drop Needle Sweater; it's both warm and breathable all at the same time. It's sewn from Kate Lord's 60% Cotton/40% Rayon fabric and has enough stretch to provide a gal with full range of motion. The Ashby Drop Needle Sweater features a ribbed collar and full zipper making it relatively easy to get on and off as the weather dictates. The drop needle stitching up the sides and shoulders of this comfortable and incredibly fashionable sweater adds both breathability and style. It's available in sizes S - XL and in either white or black. Retail price is $64.95.

When it comes to shorts, Kate Lord's Warwick Performance Solid Shorts are second to none. They're crafted from the company's 96%Polyester/4% Spandex fabric, which is quite breathable and provides enough stretch that you can move comfortably through the golf swing. The moisture wicking properties of the fabric draw sweat away from the body, keeping you cool and dry throughout your round while the anti-microbial finish will keep you smelling fresh even when your golf game stinks! The 20" length adds a little extra protection from the sun. The Warwick Performance Shorts are available in sizes 2 - 16 and in four colors: Navy, Black, Ash and Red. Retail price is a scant $65.

For guys, look Ahead to some great polos. Their Chest Stripe Polo is sewn from 100% polyester that provides enough stretch to let you move comfortably through your golf swing with no pinching or binding. The fabric is treated with an anti-microbial finish which helps to reduce the presence of odor-causing bacteria and moisture wicking that quickly moves sweat away from the skin, keeping you dry when things start to heat up. The Chest Stripe Polo features a classic golf 3-button placket with self-collar and the stripes on the chest separate a white bottom from gradient colored shoulders. There's an embroidered Ahead "A: logo on the yoke of the neck. The Ahead Chest Stripe Polo is available in sizes S - XL and in several color combinations. Retail price is $65.

These are just a few pieces from these collections. For more information or to see what else they have available, visit their websites at www.aheadweb.com and click on the Catalogs tab.

David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
