Local and traveling golfers love to research courses before playing them, whether it is to gain some local knowledge or to set an expectation before their upcoming round. Below is an interview with Matt Phipps who shares some valuable insight about the property, its most talked about holes and the signature dish/drink to consume at the 19th hole.

How Does Your Course Differ From The Others In The Area? With fast greens and lush fairways, Wild Bluff Golf Course is a challenge for any golfer and offers spectacular views of Lake Superior along the way. Up north golf at its finest!

For someone who has not played the course in awhile, has there been any new changes/renovations to the course or property? We have GPS on our golf carts making for the ultimate golf experience

What is your course's answer to Amen Corner? (Describe your best/hardest 3 back/back/back holes) #15-A spectacular par 3 with a huge elevation drop. Judging the wind correctly is the key to hitting this green

#16-A seemingly easy par 4, less than driver off the tee to avoid the creek running across the fairway. It is the second shot on this hole that demands accuracy into a very undulated green with trouble lurking left, right, and long

#17-A beast of a par 5. Not reachable in 2 for most golfers, a tee shot on the left side will set you up for the difficult layup. Hitting into a green that slopes back to front, you must have excellent control to knock it close and have a chance at birdie.

What is your course's claim to fame, or is there a little known fact that golfers should know about the property? We held the Bay Mills Open for several years. Michelle Wie played in this Canadian Tour Event when she was just 14 years old.

What tournaments/events have you (recently) hosted or will be hosting? We have a variety of golf events every year, check out our calendar for a full list of events. One of our most notable events is our Snowball Open. A "tough man" type of format that is a brutal test of golf.

Besides golf, what other amenities do you offer if a golfer wants to spend most of the day at your facility? We have a full service casino and resort across the street from the golf course with several dining options. There is great fishing and hiking in the area as well

For the traveling golfer, do you have lodging onsite or partner with any area hotels? Yes, Bay Mills Resort and Casino

Signature sandwich or drink? Our jumbo sized Bloody Mary's are second to none!
