Below is an interview with Chris Hines who shares some valuable tidbits about the course, memorable holes and must eats and treats at the 19th.
Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property
We have two beautiful golf courses at A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort, Sundance and the Torch course. They both offer great northern Michigan beauty overlooking Torch Lake. We have a sprawling practice facility including a full driving range, chipping green, practice bunkers and a spacious putting green. The property also includes two restaurants with varying menus.
If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course?
Our facility is family friendly with two courses that are both challenging but fair. Our rates are competitive in the area and we offer unmatched views of beautiful Torch Lake.
What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course?
The Sundance course is a links style course with wide fairways lined with heather and bunkers. The course plays very fair with undulating greens. The Torch course is a true northern Michigan golf course cut through the trees with great elevation change. Play smart off the tee, using driver may not always be the best option.
Any recent changes to the golf course? Or any upcoming changes?
We just recently opened our new pro shop and restaurant overlooking the Sundance course. Stop by after your round for a great pizza at the Brick Oven at Sundance.
Recent Awards or What You Are Most Proud About The Course?
We are proud of the friendly atmosphere and well conditioned courses we have at A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort.
What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole?
The par 3 seventh hole on the Torch course is our signature hole because of the spectacular views of Torch Lake.
What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It?
My favorite hole is the par 3 seventeenth at Sundance because it is a beautiful down hill hole that has a view of Torch Lake in the distance.
Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole?
The newly opened Brick Oven at Sundance offers great pizza and hot stone sandwiches to go along with our famous Torch Lake Cooler.
For the traveling golfer, do you have lodging onsite or partner with any area hotels?
We have several different lodging accommodations on the property, ranging from single bedroom all the way up to four bedroom condominiums.
Who Holds Course Record and What Was Their Score?
Course record is 67 held by Joshua Lavely.

In his adult years, his passion for the game collided with his entrepreneurial spirit and in 2004 launched GolfWisconsin.com. In 2007, the idea for a network of local golf directory sites formed and GolfTrips.com was born. Today, the network consists of a site in all 50 states supported by national sites like GolfTrips.com, GolfGuide.com and GolfPackages.com. It is an understatement to say, Brian is passionate about promoting golf and golf travel on a local, regional, national and international level.
On the golf course, Brian is known as a fierce weekend warrior that fluctuates between a 5-9 handicap. With a soft fade, known as "The Weis Slice", and booming 300+ drives, he can blast it out of bounds with the best of them.
