An Insightful Interview With Sean Pearson, Head Golf Professional

Below is an interview with Sean Pearson who shares some valuable tidbits about the course, memorable holes and must eats and treats at the 19th.

Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property Heritage Club is a pristine South Carolina Lowcountry plantation style golf and event destination. Situated on an old rice plantation amongst 300 year old live oaks draped with Spanish moss. The Heritage Clubhouse is a true replica of the old plantation home that originally sat on the property. Great spot for gatherings such as special events, parties, and weddings.

If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course? Heritage Club is an all inclusive golf destination. Our all inclusive golf provides you with your tee time, breakfast, lunch, and two draft beers (fountain soda or tea).

What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course? Heritage Club is not an excessively long golf course, so overpowering is not an option. Large undulating Champion Bermuda greens and sharp dog legs requires more thought than the old adage tee it high and let it fly. Our course superintendent Jim Huntoon and his staff do an excellent job not only maintaining the course but also setting up a fair test day in and day out.

Recent Awards or What You Are Most Proud About The Course? Heritage Club has consistently been in Golf Magazine as one of South Carolinas top 20 golf destinations. Golf Digest has given Heritage Club 4 and 1/2 stars as well as #33 public golf courses in America 2010-2011. One of Heritage Clubs most recent accolades comes from Rolex's top 1000 golf courses in the world 2011.

What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole? Heritage Club actually has two signature holes. The #13 228 par 3 has a forced carry over a beautiful freshwater lake to a peninsula style green. #18 is a 506 dog leg left par 5 that runs along the same fresh water lake as #13. The right side of the fairway is guarded by huge live oaks along with the lake. The tee shot will determine whether you want to risk a try at another water surrounded green.

What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It? My personal favorite hole is #7. A risk reward severe dog leg right if you can hit a high cut than you can cut the corner and almost guarantee yourself a great look at any of the hole locations within 150 yards. The live oaks and view of the waterway make this hole a one to remember.

Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole?
>From our Turkey Rueben to Mrs. Mary's homemade vegetable beef soup, you really can't go wrong. Multiple draft beers from Guinness to Blue Moon all served ice cold. The best part is Ellen Jacobs and her wonderful staff. Oh Yeah and it is all included with your tee time.
