Golf is a sport enjoyed all around the world. However, there are certain countries that have embraced the game much more so than others. In this article, we would like to take a look at a few countries where golf gets quite a lot of respect, and are great tourist destinations for fans of the game.

Scotland
Many might assume that Scotland is the country where golf is the most popular. Especially if one takes into consideration the fact that many believe that the game's origins can be traced to the Scottish Highlands. However, surprisingly, the sport is not nearly as popular in Scotland as it is in some of the other countries featured on this list.
However, that does not mean that the Scottish fall behind when it comes to gorgeous courses and fabulous golf clubs that one can join. Apart from the spectacular scenery, the ancient castles and the gothic architecture, golf fans traveling to Scotland should absolutely not miss some of the best golf courses that Europe has to offer.

England

The States have also produced some of the most popular and accomplished players in the game's history. Among the most popular is Tiger Woods, whose popularity extends far beyond the game itself.

On top of that, the country is also home to some of the biggest golf tournaments, such as the U.S. Open, which is among the most prestigious events in the world of the sport. The US also has uncountable golf courses, each greater and more splendid than the other.
