THE OLD COURSE HOTEL PRO AM RETURNS TO ST ANDREWS FOR A SECOND YEAR

By Brian Weis

Celebrating the best of Scottish golf and hospitality, the tournament returns for its second year, featuring three outstanding championship courses at The Home of Golf - St Andrews

3rd April 2023: In collaboration with the PGA in Scotland, the Old Course Hotel Pro Am (20th -22nd September 2023) will be played over three tournament rounds, and includes the championship courses The Duke's, Kingsbarns Golf Links and Dumbarnie Links as the host venues. Combined with the luxurious accommodation offering at the award-winning Old Course Hotel, the event offers both amateurs and professionals a five-star experience and the chance to play on some of the finest courses in Scotland.

Confirmed as a key fixture within The PGA in Scotland 2023 schedule, the tournament has a £25,000 minimum prize fund for professionals, incredible amateur prizes and an awards dinner held in The Hall of Champions at the Old Course Hotel, providing a unique opportunity to be a part of history.

The event will feature an amateur team competition played across three days alongside an individual professional competition over the same duration. Teams can be made up of men and women with a valid handicap and will comprise three amateurs and a professional, with the option for teams to bring their own pro or to be allocated one by The PGA in Scotland.

The event includes three nights of luxury five-star accommodation at Old Course Hotel, overlooking the Old Course and breath-taking views of St Andrews and West Sands Beach. Hospitality includes a welcome drinks reception, breakfast, morning refreshments and lunch each day, and the final night prize-giving dinner with entertainment. Guests can also enjoy the hotel's Kohler Waters Spa and book a range of treatments. The hotel boasts six restaurants with a wealth of dining options, from the Road Hole Restaurant to golf's most famous pub, The Jigger Inn. Participants have the option to add extra nights or rounds of golf to their stay and itinerary using the golf concierge team and the tournament also offers a no-accommodation entry rate.

"We are delighted to announce the return of the Old Course Hotel Pro Am. The inaugural event was heralded as a tremendous success and we look forward to welcoming all of the teams to St Andrews in September. The event is growing a fantastic reputation in offering three world class golf experiences matched with outstanding hospitality, service, and the opportunity to explore and enjoy St Andrews during the week." said Ayden Roberts-Jones, Manager of The Duke's.

St Andrews is well accustomed to playing host to momentous golfing events, both the Walker Cup and the AIG Women's Open will return to the Home of Golf in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
