No areas in Maryland have seen more golf growth in the past 25 years than the Frederick and Hagerstown regions. A natural crossroads for states to the north and south, Frederick and Hagerstown are a short 24 miles apart with the latter now the second largest city in the Free State. Both have unique downtown districts.

Maryland National Golf Club, an Arthur Hills creation, is equal parts visually stunning and challenging. The special topography of this course includes open links-style holes, wetland carries, and wooded tree-lined fairways. These two courses on the west side of Frederick make a 36-hole day very attainable based on the proximity each has to one another.

Earning the nickname “Hub City,” Hagerstown today bustles with the best of history, culture, specialty shops, and cuisine from around the world that includes Hagerstown’s German heritage. Black Rock Golf Course takes you on a golf journey from its opening holes that are nestled in the Shenandoah Valley to its spectacular back nine with scenic views of the Appalachian Mountains. Beaver Creek Country Club allows golf travelers access to one of the finest courses in the Tri-State. Rocky Gap Casino Resort, a destination golf course in Flintstone, makes full use of Maryland’s natural beauty. This Jack Nicklaus Signature Course also makes an ideal stop for travels to and from the region.
