Golf Course Information
Description
In 1974 Scott Krause who had previously lived in Minnesota, purchased the course. Scott was an avid golfer and brought with him a family of five children with ages 19 to 9. In the beginning it was a matter of attracting golfers and weddings to patronize a facility that was thought to be "way out in the boonies". As business grew so did the changes to the facility. There were 3000 trees added to the course, 41 sand traps, drain tile and innumerable cosmetic enhancements.
The family has always had a hands on approach, to building their business.
In 1999 Scott sold the course to three of his son's, Mark, Steve and Chris. For the next 4 years they did major renovations to the course and clubhouse that included paved cart paths, the addition of planters and flowers everywhere, more trees were added, the clubhouse received new china, chairs, round tables, drapes. Since 2014 the whole interior of the banquet halls have received a major face lift that includes: new carpet, lighting and ceiling tiles along with a new color scheme and mirrors added to the some interior walls,
The course is a shot makers course. Position off the tees is primary to be able to hit to the semi-small, super smooth greens. The course measure 6100 yards from the whites and 6550 from the blues with 8 doglegs scattered throughout the course. If you are looking to play a quality conditioned course, that is easy to walk and where the driver is not always the choice club off the tee, then MLCC is for you.
