The General Golf Course at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Galena, Illinois, is a standout destination for golfers seeking both challenge and scenic beauty. Designed by Andy North and Roger Packard, this 18-hole course is renowned for its dramatic elevation changes—totaling 289 feet from the first tee to the 18th green—and breathtaking views of the tri-state area encompassing Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin .

My favorite holes was the par-4 5th.. It features an astonishing 100+-foot drop from tee to green, offering golfers a thrilling and visually stunning experience . This hole not only tests players' skills but also provides panoramic vistas that are among the most talked-about in the region. Can see 3 states from this tee box. Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.
